March 13th East Seneca held its Family Fun Night with several games and activities for our member’s families, including: bounce house, life size operation game, etc. No bobbing for swine flu this time (like at our Halloween Party).
2 people out filling a vehicle which had runout of fuel were struck in a 4 car MVC at the intersection of Transit Road and Schultz Road. The 2 patients were transported by Rural/Metro Ambulance to ECMC. East Seneca and Blossom Fire Departments evaluated the remaining patients, who all refused transportation. Police kept Transit road shut down for several hours to perform an investigation.
East Seneca held its annual Installation Dinner Saturday January 30th. As part of the ceremony Firefighter Art Heck was recognized for 62 years of service to his community with the East Seneca Volunteer Fire Company. His father was a charter member of the department and active for 64 years.
27 Firefighters were recognized with the “Doc” Schieber award for their efforts to save a MVC victim who had suffered severe head trauma. This patient spent 40 days in a coma but has made a full recovery.

East Seneca was alerted at about 0430 this morning for a MVC with entrapment at Transit Road and Southwestern Blvd.
Firefighters arrived within minutes to find a car vs. tractor-trailer collision with 1 trapped.
The patient was quickly extricated and transferred to Rural-Metro Ambulance Paramedics for transport to South Buffalo Mercy.
